We have an immediate opening for a Manufacturing Process Engineer to join our engineering group in Mississauga. This is a short-term contract role with the possibility of an extension. Working the night shift may be required.

Specific Position Duties

  • Lead the design, development and implementation of new manufacturing processes and technologies.
  • As part of a cross-functional project core team you will work to ensure that the process development and process validation is completed according to the Quality Management System.
  • Ensure that the project/product transfers successfully to production.
  • Apply structured problem solving, lean principals, and best practice process development in order to drive product and process improvements.
  • Work closely with SME’s to ensure process improvement activities are designed to enhance existing manufacturing capability.
  • Plan, implement and co-ordinate new product introductions, including product design, product specifications, process validations, identification of training needs, process & equipment lay-out, production procedures, material specifications, and material & packaging procurement.
  • Design and introduce manufacturing processes for new products to increase capabilities and efficiencies.

Qualifications for Position

  • Bachelors or Masters in Electrical/Electronic Engineering. 
  • Minimum 3-7 years related working experience.
  • Experience in process design/development and product design in manufacturing preferably in the medical device industry, electrical/electronics. 
  • Work experience in electrical and systems engineering, working with PCP Boards is an asset. 
  • Experience with lean manufacturing principles.
  • Must possess strong root cause analysis skills.
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills (both written and oral).
  • Proficient in MS Office.
  • Experience or training in Lean or Six Sigma training desired.
