We have an opening for a Manufacturing Analyst/ Producibility Engineer to join our engineering group in Longueuil.

Specific Position Duties

  • Responsible for ensuring that all products introduced through a new Engine Development Program, a post-certification change in engineering, or resourcing to meet all requirements while minimizing poor quality and producibility risks
  • Manage production risks from the detailed design and/or advanced commercial planning phase
  • Take responsibility for weekly design meetings to ensure that suppliers are capable of producing parts that comply with the designs
  • Apply technical expertise knowledge to ensure that parts meet the design criteria;
  • Apply risk mitigation tools to parts produced using the manufacturing processes of suppliers and sub-suppliers
  • Identify constraints and advantages of proposed designs
  • Take part of both client & supplier design groups Technical Drawing Review and Approval
  • Ensure that parts are producible
  • Ensure robustness of supplier process & proper flow down to their sub tier
  • Validate supplier’s manufacturing and assembly process
  • Identify risks in supplier’s processes and inspection methods
  • Monitor the manufacturing of initial production hardware
  • Support and monitor suppliers during manufacturing of development hardware
  • Tooling Review and Approval
  • Review of Dimensional Inspections Report
  • Propose changes to the design and/or tooling to increase parts producibility and yield rate.
  • Validate the supplier process flow, Product Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (PFMEA) and Process Control Plan
  • Review of First Article Inspection Reports (FAIR) to make sure the product is conforming to the drawing geometrical and dimensional requirements
  • Review of Side by Side comparison of parts, between previous and future source (in the case of resourcing or transition of a component to a new supplier)
  • Validate the supplier measurement systems (verify gauge repeatability and reliability)

Qualifications for Position

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineer
  • Solid knowledge in manufacturing and composite materials
  • Knowledge of gas turbine in an asset
  • Demonstrate strong performance in a team environment
  • Adaptability to a variety of assignments
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Good interpersonal skills and analytical thinking skills
  • Ability to influence and negotiate
